
ELIGIBILITY
To apply for the 2026 cohort of SoLa Scholars, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Demonstrate a Commitment to Civic Engagement and Social Responsibility
Applicants should exhibit a strong dedication to serving their community and fostering social responsibility through their actions and aspirations.

2. High School Senior, Class of 2026
Candidates must be graduating high school seniors in the Class of 2026.
​
3. Plan to Attend a Four-Year Accredited University Full-Time
Applicants must intend to enroll as full-time students at a four-year accredited university beginning in Fall 2026 .

4. Residency in Specific South LA Zip Codes
Applicants must reside in one of the following South Los Angeles zip codes:
90001, 90002, 90003, 90006, 90007, 90008, 90011, 90013, 90015, 90016, 90017, 90018, 90021, 90022, 90023, 90026, 90029, 90032, 90033, 90037, 90043, 90044, 90047, 90058, 90059, 90061, 90062, 90220, 90221, 90222, 90223, 90224, 90247, 90249, 90250, 90255, 90262, 90280, 90301, 90302, 90303, 90304, 90305, 90710, 90717, 90731, 90732, 90744.
THE MILLER FULL-RIDE SCHOLARSHIP
In addition to meeting the general eligibility criteria listed above, students seeking consideration for the Miller full-ride scholarship must fulfill the following requirements:

1. Demonstrate Commitment to Academic Excellence: Applicants must have a minimum unweighted high school GPA of 3.5.
​
2. Show Evidence of High Financial Need: Applicants must complete the FAFSA and demonstrate minimal to no family financial support, reflecting low-income status.
​
3. Commit to Attending an Eligible University: Applicants must have been accepted to, or be pending acceptance at, a highly selective private university with the intent to enroll if admitted and funded. Eligible universities include:

Competitive Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs)

Top-Ranking Private Universities (e.g., Ivy League)

Highly Selective Out-of-State Universities

​Public scholars such as UC's and CSU's are not eligible
